@ Universidade Federal do Ceará, Brazil
Graduated in Chemical Engineering from the Federal University of Ceará (1990), holds a Master’s degree in Chemical Engineering from the Federal University of São Carlos (1993), and a Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering from the University of Porto (2001). She is a Full Professor at the Federal University of Ceará and served as a Visiting Ad Honorem Professor (2012–2014) at the National University of San Luis, Argentina. Her teaching focuses on Transport Phenomena and Unit Operations at both undergraduate and graduate levels. She has held leadership positions, including department head, undergraduate program coordinator, graduate program coordinator in Chemical Engineering at UFC, vice-director, and director of the Technology Center. Currently, she serves as Vice-Rector and Pro-Rector for Innovation and Interinstitutional Relations (PROINTER) at the Federal University of Ceará (2023–2027) under the administration of Rector Custódio Almeida. A CNPq PQ-A researcher, she has expertise in Adsorption and Separation Processes, with research focusing on the development of adsorbents, fundamental measurements of adsorption and catalysis systems, gas storage/separation/purification through adsorption, and liquid-phase separation processes based on preparative chromatography. She supervises theses and dissertations in the Graduate Program in Chemical Engineering at UFC (CAPES score 7). She served as a full member of the Chemical Engineering Advisory Committee of CNPq from 2011 to 2014 and on the Engineering II Committee of CAPES (2013–2016 quadriennial evaluation). She was the Deputy Coordinator for Engineering II Programs (CAPES) for professional graduate programs (2018–2022) and academic programs (2022–2023). She leads the INCT CAPICUA (Catalysts and Adsorbents for CO₂ Capture and Utilization) and is on the editorial boards of Chemical Engineering Journal, Adsorption, and the Kirk-Othmer Encyclopedia of Chemical Engineering (Wiley). A member of the Ceará Academy of Sciences (ACECI), the National Academy of Engineering (ANE), and a Fellow of the International Adsorption Society (IAS), she is also the mother of three daughters, born in 1994, 2001, and 2003. She has a particular interest in affirmative actions and public policies that promote greater gender balance in STEM careers.
