Graduated in Civil and Electrical Engineering from the Federal and State Universities of Amazonas, Brazil, and PhD in Environmental Engineering from CU Boulder, USA. She is currently a Professor at the Federal University of Ceará, Brazil. Her research focuses on waste-to-energy conversion, specifically on wastewater treatment for renewable energy production (electricity and hydrogen) using microbial fuel cells and other bioelectrochemical systems.
