Professor at the Federal University of Alfenas, Poços de Caldas campus, and a permanent faculty member of the Graduate Programs in Environmental Science and Engineering and in Environmental Sciences. She holds a PhD in Hydraulic and Sanitation Engineering from USP and a Master’s degree in Biotechnology from UNESP. She is the Deputy Director of CP2B – the São Paulo Center for Studies in Biogas and Bioenergy, and a specialist in industrial wastewater treatment processes, with an emphasis on bioenergy production and energy integration from the use of agro-industrial co-products. She is currently a visiting researcher at Unicamp, leader of the Research Group on Evaluation, Optimization, and Development of Environmental Technologies, and has served as a visiting researcher at Argonne National Laboratory in the United States. She is the national coordinator of the project Ciência, coisa de menina (Science, a Girl’s Thing), aimed at reducing gender inequality in science, and one of the founders of Cienplifica, a YouTube channel dedicated to science communication.
